Wimpy mom finally meets hero Dad

Woooooo-hoooooooooooooo! We tracked Adam and the family minute by minute through the day. Have to admit that Google Latitude even got surreptitiously checked in church. My day soared to new heights as the car headed towards Cape Town, then especially low depths as it slowed for breaks and lunches and stuff.

C'mon, c'mon! Never has 6 days taken so long or been so painful (rib cage, heart, missing my man and bronchitis, to name a few on the list). But at 6pm, sparing you the afternoon sagas, there was a small Getz at the gate and a tanned, black-eyed hubby to hug. Two kids and I launched ourselves at the man. I was faster, but only just!

And of course, a Grand-mama, Craig and supercilious cat emerged out the car too. His Zoz-i-ness was most disdainful and resigned to his lot in life and travelling cage. If ever you've had a cat give you "that" look... well, I was on the receiving end. Our guest room became his sanctuary for the next 6 days, apart from walks on the kitty lead around the house and garden.

Jane needed a day or two to recover from the trip and then the kids and I took her over the pass to the cottage in Hout Bay. But that's another post.

BTW, hero man of my heart was mending the gate motor in Farmall when his head inadvertently connected with the electric fence. Which caused his head to move violently in the opposite direction. Unfortunately, there was a gate motor in the way. Ergo, one black and purple eye for the next 5 days.

He's still sneezing dust and fighting off sinus lurgies. Say no more. So so so so very good to have him home. *Mwah*
