Day 4 - am I really a wimpy mom?

Friday. Dawned clear, sunny and without sniffles. Er, not. Wet, rainy, and a head full of flu. However, all up, dressed, breakfasted and on the go early. Kids went to school and I popped across the road to Cheryl's spot where we threw a surprise 40th birthday party for Natasha who missed out on birthday celebrations.

Balloons, cake, flowers and words of encouragement and of all that she meant to each one of us left one lovely lady a bit speechless and teary, but with a huge smile. :)   Mission accomplished!

Off to my Bible Study through the rain. How I am loving this Beth Moore "Breaking Free" series. There's lots that I have dealt with, but finding new nuggets of truth that is so super special and timely, especially for our marriage and extended family. How much God loves us and what incredible timing He has!!  I find the promise of "rebuilding the cities long devastated" brings me such hope for our new season here.

We popped in at Heroine Lynette for afternoon tea. And then I hit the pharmacy to get informed info on what meds I should be cocktailing to combat the torn muscles, bronchitis, coughing and sinus streams. She laughed at and with me! Ow!

Stocked up, I collected kids and headed home for fish cakes for dinner. Immediate outcry. Juice spilled on floor. Jessica in tears. Luke shouting. I bent over to wipe juice up and ripped all those muscles again... so I left and sobbed it out in the bathroom. The pain was like a spear ripping into me. Can't really find words for it. And then, I could not stop crying! All just too much, especially as I had just heard that Adam was STILL in Jhb and would only probably leave on Saturday am which meant another two days alone.

We all cried together, then Jessica and Luke recovered while I kept sniffling and ate the darn fish cakes and had their bath.

7.30pm: Adam called to say everyone was finally out the house and at my mom.

8.30pm: I took two painkillers and phoned Adam to say goodnight. Found out that Jane was back at the house. Arghgh. Bedtime.
