The foetus is approximately 29 cm long crown-to-bum, weighs about 1,6 - 2 kg's. Your baby can open its eyes. Your baby may turn around in your uterus (womb) and stay in the new position for the rest of your pregnancy. You'll know if your baby is head down because your diaphragm and ribs will feel like a kicking bag. The foetus sleeps 90 - 95% of the day, and sometimes experiences REM sleep, an indication of dreaming.

Adam put in a dimmer switch for me, finished the shelving (we just need some doors and handles now) and did a hundred other things. Hilton's helping hands meant that Adam could tackle some shelves in the workshop which were way overdue for some realignment. By about 5pm we were all totally whacked, so sat down for huge cups of tea and slices of fresh bread and jam.
Mike, Gill, Heidi and Ian came for dinner, which resulted in loads of laughs and baby stories. After good food and wine, rubbing our laughter-impaired sides, we fell into bed at 12. Needless to say, getting to church on time was a bit of mission on Sunday morning, and recovery time included a good nap as soon as we got home! Then it was off to Blouberg to say hello to Grant and Gail, a walk on the beach with that classic CT view of Table Mountain, and delicious pizza and tiramisu for dinner. A very full weekend in all senses of the word!
Hmm. They obviously don't have a little Adam on the turn inside them! This baby definitely is not sleeping 90% of the day, and that measurement excludes legs which are about 12-14cm long by now, or active little arms. I'm feeling rather heavier and the snoozies are with me (you know - "May the Force be with you"), but besides having to give up and ask Adam to do up my boots for me the other day, all is going well.
Carla and Hilton arrived for tea on Saturday 5th, our DIY weekend, complete with dark denim curtain material for the baby's room. I bought some lining, curtain rails and tape, so the next (very) ambitious project is to sew some curtains. Here is a "before" pic of the room before Carla got hold of it and helped me empty all the boxes.
