25 weeks and showered

All clear this time round - we finally made it to Jhb on Tuesday night. Despite a 2-hr delay, with supper courtesy of Kulula during the wait. I have to admit I pleaded pregnancy and starvation to get the vouchers :)

Dave picked us up in Rosie on Wednesday morning, and we bumped through to Mountain Sanctuary Park. It was wonderful to be in the mountains again, and we took a stroll into Cedarburg Kloof along with the Warrens, Dave and Des, Laura and Pumbie.
Val and two friends arrived to join us around lunch time. Despite no climbing (the rack did not make it), it was wonderful to sit and picnic by the river, and catch up with friends.

Thursday and Friday were spent mostly with Adam's mom, although we did have supper with my brother and our family on Thursday night. They have a lovely new house in Sunninghill and it was great to see them enjoying it, and to catch up on all the news.

On Saturday my parents generously allowed us to fill their house with all our friends, many of whom we had not seen for at least a year. By 2pm the place was packed with people talking, laughing and catching up. It was wonderful, even if we did just get a quick hello in. And many brought us gifts for Bump - when I finally sat down to open them, I was so overwhelmed with the generosity and kind-heartedness! Wow! I have to admit that I gave in to oohs and aahs and "CUTE!!"s.

Hannah, Josh and Nicole helped unwrap gifts for me with great abandon, in between leaping into the swimming pool. Needless to say, the men all retreated post-haste to the lounge to watch the cricket. All except for my handsome and totally awesome hubbie, who took pics and laughed at my excitement! (Below: Irene, Val and myself)

We carried on talking and finally ordered pizza for supper at about 7.30pm... Stuart, Jenny, Geoff, Jen & Anna Beth, Dad, Mum, Adam and I tucking in as though we had not eaten gooseberry cheese cake, cupcakes, and lots of other snacks all afternoon.

And finally, on Sunday we went to church, met up with wonderful friends there too, then took Anna Sambo out for breakfast, collected Adam's mom and took her to Garden World for lunch, packed some more of the workshop, dropped it with Jules and Michele who are bringing some boxes to CT for us, went past Dave and Des for tea, dropped off Steve's car (what a hero, awesome friend to lend us his chariot for the week), got home, made supper, ate supper, sat down with my folks when they got home late, and spread out all our Bump-goodies so that Mum and Dad could see. And finally, fell into bed!

Can you believe it? We made it back with a car seat, carry bags, babies clothes, baby bath stuff, bibs, bottles, bear and SO much more... all under the weight allowance! Adam caught the early flight, and I caught a later flight after a work meeting in Sandton.

What a weekend of whacky, winsome, wonderful friends and family! You guys simply are the bestest!
