Constructor dads

It's been a fabulous warm week in Cape Town. Ssh, don't tell the Vaalies or they might move down in droves. The myth of CT's woeful winter weather perpetuates, and with excellent timing the storms blow in when hopeful visitors arrive. Ah well. It's really not all rain and shivers! Although we do have some of those...

So this week the small girl asked me: "Mommy, why is Daddy at church tonight?"
Me: "Because he is helping them set up the sound desk."
SG: "Does that mean he gets to talk on the microphone to everyone?"
Me: "Yes, but just to test the sound before. Uncle Terran or someone else will do most of the talking tonight."
SG: "Oh, I know. That means Daddy stands up and he's the Constructor!"

Ah, in so many ways she just hits the nail on the head! Love it!

Small boy is into his library Grand Prix book. It's two thirds his height if you open it up and stand it on one end, a veritable weapon of mass destruction if you are on the receiving end when he lobbs it onto the bed (the US got it wrong, Luke has the WOMD, not the northern world) and he is passionately consuming information about the various tracks. I learnt today about Imola, in Italy, one of the loveliest (and at one time deadliest) tracks. The local town was founded by a believer in 300AD. Fact. Another fact is that it's named after both Enzo Ferrari and his son Dino (the Ferrari empire is just 40km or so away). You can tell I am learning lots too! BTW, the book is so big it doesn't fit under his pillow, and we have tried, so I know firsthand - and I am NOT exaggerating.

Other news, Adam is off to Jhb tomorrow for a night and a day. Sniff sniff. Work stuff, but glad that this is a short week. Roll on Women's Day and our weekend housesitting in Franschoek. Mmm!

Oh, just had to share this lovely post I got google-plussed with. Snigger snigger! Apologies if you have seen it before  :)

Ah dear. On that technologically-challenged thought, good night and have a blessed week!
