Cederberg's magical moments

Some might say that camping is not magical. That camping with kids is perhaps mildly insane. And yes, I probably agree. But then, we are not entirely sane too, and so time in a campsite with just gas to cook on, limited "fridge" (aka cooler box with ice) and tents in the cooler weather at night doesn't really matter.

Think Sandrif. Think stars sprayed across the night skies, big trees to camp under, bats hunting in the dusk, a river gurgling invites to small children to splash and play and spray. Let me not forget the lure of the cracks in the cliffs standing sentinel above our shady campsite or the laughter and shouts of friends old and new. And the occasional crash and wail as a kid falls out of the hammock or off the monkey bars of the jungle gym nearby. This was a weekend of cool things: especially Jessica's first ever sleepover with two friends in her tent. Hannah and Lucy and Jessica talked till late, and had us up early the next morning as they sang through a ba-zillion pop songs (ok, that was Lucy), discussed little brothers, laughed about kissing boys one day (yuckkkkk) and more.

Of course, there had to be one sick kid (Luke with tummy cramps) but so glad Tracey was on hand to reassure us. He did race up the cracks the day before, then come down and play rugby with all the older kids for another 3 hours straight.

Ker-fabulous!

Slightly cracked at the Wolfberg Cracks...

Kids voted. Anna made the best breakfasts!

Great friends to hang with...

Thanks to Tim and Collette (with Hannah and James), Steve and Leigh with super-cute Amy Grace, Brett and Tracey and Josh who thought this up, and new friends Anna and Marcus with their 3.  You guys rock.

We're in for next year!!
