The seasons of life are changing

And so today we began a new season of life!  Jessica started Grade One at a lovely local primary school. We are blessed to have her in a class of just 24 children, with a teacher who we have heard good reports of. School bags, lunches, shoes, uniform... we arrived before the school bell (what's that mommy?) and saw our girl happily settled in to her new classroom. Some pics below...

My name is Jessica and I am 6!

Me and my dad...

This is my table - Ethan is at the far opposite corner and Taryn (opposite from me) has a big gap in her teeth where her big sister twisted and pulled out her top front tooth...

My classroom

My teacher has her hands in the air already!
I'm colouring in my picture in the meantime.
And of course, there's the small boy who is excited to be going up a class and getting new toys to play with. He has grown so much over the holidays - new thoughts, expressions and ideas popping out at every opportunity! My Lukey is getting bigger and bigger by the day, although he still loves snuggling in the mornings before he gets his ruskies and tea with Dad. He woke up at 5.15am today. Arghghg!

Hi Mom. Can we go inside yet?

It's no big deal - I'm going to Teacher Debbie's class. Hurry up!
I want to see my buddies Daniel, James, Jake and Reuben...
And so, after sticking labels onto stationery last night at 9.15pm - the labels were delayed! - here we all are bright and early at the start of our first term of school, 2014. With new routines in place like kids making own lunchboxes and helping out with chores, and tidy bedrooms (they even made their own beds this morning), we step into the unknown.

It's fun doing it together!
