So, I made the fatal error of being technical for this party. I.e. designing all the bits and pieces on my laptop. All went well until I tried to remove the white background from a picture of Lightning McQueen, Luke's current #1 hero (apart from the bouncy ball of course).
Sigh. So of course as we all do, I googled it. I found an article at
http://www.wikihow.com/Change-an-Image-Background-in-MS-Paint-%28Green-Screen%29,
which taught me to turn the background green (green screening) then
"just" select the car and drop into the new pic. Har har har... So I
took 30 minutes to carefully change the original white to green, then
back to white again.
Anyway, here's the invite which was much simpler than trying to do the thank you note above...
So far the "ann of plaction" is welcome races round the Piston Cup oval (down the side of our house), a pit stop at Ramone's body art for face paint and temporary tattoos, a quick pull in at Fillmore's place for something to drink, followed by some munchies at Flo's Cafe.
Then it's off on a mission to find Guido (nearly a tragedy here as I almost labelled the treasure hunt smarties as Luigi, but Luke escaped from bed at about 8.30 last night and came in and said "Look, Guido!" - whew). We'll finish off with an obstacle course and then shooting targets crayoned on our walls with wazookas.
At which stage I'll collapse, lock everyone out of the house and let them all run wild with cake and ice cream! Hooray, Mum volunteered a cake so I am off the hook this year. She's been a hero in organising party goodies for us. Even making chocolate cars for take home pressies, which is going to be great as the sugar high happens at home.
It's the first year that I have a drop and go party, which should be interesting :) Will let you know how it all turns out.
