Well, it was potentially an offer of camping at Montagu, but with colds and sniffles all round, we chose to stay home. Adam was all set for a weekend in bed with the iPad and Sinutab when I bought 4 rolls of Isotherm and borrowed Moosa from a friend for the morning in order to insulate our ceiling a bit. It's been bitterly cold here and we all wear at least 3 layers all day in the house. Sometimes less outside.
Anyway, little did I realise that there would be lots of vacuuming, sweeping and dusting involved. Adam and Moosa disappeared into the ceiling with a headlamp and light, two brooms and two vacuum cleaners and re-emerged about 4 hours later covered in dust from head to toe. Not an understatement. In the interim I kidded, cut Isotherm (my right hand has tendonitis from the scissors), made lunch and thought of ways of making it up to my sick heroic husband. So, tally at the end of the day: 4 rolls of Isotherm, one husband with hectic sinus from all the dust, 2/3 of the house insulated, 2 kids who had a ball rolling in the stuff, and 1 mom who still has the light of further insulation in her eye (sorry babe!).
At least today we had downtime with church, yummy lunch cheffed by hero-sneeze-Dad, Jessica discovered remote controlled cars (thanks Pascale and co) and I met little Tessa F for the first time (just 24 hours old when I got to hold her). Very proud mummy and daddy, especially daddy as this is his first girl. OK - off to bed now. Partner in Boot Camp Lynette has dropped me for her tonsilitis and I am on my own again heading for Boot Camp at Kirstenbosch. Arghghgh. 5.30am wake up in the cold and very dark. Hope I get to see some more shooting stars tomorrow morning...
<Might I mention that the sun only rises at about 7.45 now, which means I am home 30 minutes before I get to see it. I must be mad or desperate. Maybe desperate.)
