Da bunny (ex-bunny)

So, Jessica is now into imagination. Like bunnies, which she carries
around tenderly in her hand. Or cakes, which you have to sample and
tender every sign of appreciation for, with appropriate sounds.

So, not concentrating too hard on this, I absentmindedly received the
item that my earnest blonde daughter handed me the other day and
popped it into my mouth, making the appropriate yum yum noises and
chewing thoroughly. Only to look up into a horrified small face, blue
eyes VERY wide. "Mommy eat my b-bunny!"

As a mother, what are you meant to do? And what kind of recovery do
you really have!?? I thought my response was not too bad, considering
the stricken little girl in front of me. I gave a large burp, and
handed the bunny back to her on my hand, all safe and sound (and
non-masticated). Yikes.

She's been a bit cautious handing me bunnies ever since, and carefully
reminds me not to eat them, please. Oh dear!
