Hey, it's so hard when people you love are struggling with illness, or issues. My dear friend Catherine has cancer, and had her op today (I've been praying all day for you), and little Kate has not been eating and is losing weight (been praying for you too, little one). Then Gus is in for an op tomorrow to re-attach his Achilles tendon which popped last week (ow). And Eva lost her mom last week. The list goes on. My cousin and his wife who lost a baby (I weep).
I find myself on my knees this week. In silent and sometimes emotional prayer for some of these people who have enriched my life for a moment, a week, maybe months or even years. Not just because they are "my" people. But because they are His people, even if they don't know Him yet. Loved. Sore. Needing His touch. My willingness to be His hands seems to be such a small thing, my words of encouragement to be faint squeaks in the loudness of the storms (and boy have we had a storm today). Oh Lord, you hear and see, you hold and comfort. Reach out through the wet and damp of day and hearts. Bring miracles and love and healing and hope. You offer safety.
I'm on my knees again.
Softness of heart - I allow myself to feel, to pray, to cry out again. "You are my God - there is no other."
