Heading fast towards 20 weeks

Well, yesterday my brother asked if the Bump was now known as the Hump! It was a... different... moment in the experience of being pregnant.

My 17-week scan (taken two weeks ago) showed our active child still zooming around in my tummy. The pic is taken looking down, with two tiny perfectly-formed hands on either side of it's head. We don't know if it's a boy or girl yet, but with all the activity, we're wondering whether the Bump is going to be as active once it's out as it seems to be now! Adam can feel the little movements, and Bump seems to have a definite talent at aiming for one spot when stretching. Jab! My favourite expression nowadays seems to be "Oof".

Kind friends have lent me lots of preggie clothes, so I'm hiding my rapidly expanding tum in cool white tops and expanda-top pants. We've started taking pics - I'll add them to the blog once I get them off the camera. Adam drew a face on my tum for the pics - and took the pics going "hee hee hee"! (It turned out to be a permanent marker.)

Dad was able to spend Friday night with us. Hooray for business trips to Cape Town! We really had a great catch-up time and it was so good to have family at the table for a meal. Lots of news, stories and laughter. And Adam and I were treated to Saturday breakfast at the Olympia Cafe, our favourite spot in all Cape Town... followed by a wander down into Kalk Bay harbour and a peek at all the colourful fishing boats, before we had to drop Dad off at the airport.

The next scan is the big 22-week 3-D scan at the Foetal Assessment Centre in Claremont, on March 6. We've been told to take a video along. Looking forward to seeing the movie version :).
