Week 16

You may look pregnant now. You will soon need maternity (or larger sized) clothes.
…And I feel it! My waist is thick and I have a boop, even if people at work say that they can’t see it! ...

You may want to wear lighter weight clothes. It is normal to be warmer and perspire more when you are pregnant.
…And wake up at 2am dying of heat each night?? No one mentions that! …

Eating well is important. It ensures that both you and your baby gain the proper amount of weight.
… I’m still off chocolate – sigh! And I get full much faster than I did before - Adam is eating all my leftovers after each meal. Although, we went out to the Olympia Cafe for supper last week and I have to admit I ate everything on the plate (including the garnish - I had to stop myself licking up the remaining gravy too) as it was just so very marvellously delicious…

Your baby might get hiccups (which he masters before breathing) - but he doesn't make a sound because the trachea is filled with fluid rather than air. The baby can grasp with his hands, kick, or even somersault. You may be able to feel something although you might nor for a few more weeks.
… Thought I felt something this morning – but not sure. Feels like I have a grapefruit-sized hard spot just below my bellybutton. It’s not quite as easy to lie on my tum now. …

The foetus is approximately 11 cm long crown-to-rump, and the organs, such as the heart and lungs, are formed. For the rest of your pregnancy your baby will be growing and gaining weight. The baby's legs are now longer than the arms and the hand and fingernails are well formed.
... Looking forward to seeing this on the next scan which is on the 29th ...
