Long weekends...

Started our long weekend with lots of friends over for lunch after a special morning service at church. The kiddies loved the new slide on the treehouse (thanks Mum - it was Luke's belated birthday present) and of course, the Easter Egg hunt. We managed to escape relatively easily from the chocolate high. So far. We still have a pile of eggs to work through. Is it better to let them eat them all at once or spread out the lurvvv over time?

Adam had a descent into "man-flu" on Friday night tho' which was involuntary, poor guy. The bug picked him but the rest of us have escaped to date. So after we got Adam vertical again and not a grey colour, we took a drive out to Kalk Bay harbour and watched seals, did videos, ate (me), found eggs (kids), hugged a pillow (Adam) and hung out for the next few days.

Took the kids on the wheel in Cape Town yesterday - they loved the views and the working tugs and boats and helicopters and all that we could see. We were towed around the Aquarium too and had a bonus of a snake show. Luke was impressed but rather wary! Jessica is still giving us demonstrations of how to touch a snake "with TWO fingers, like this" and talks about bo-stricta-s.

And today, back at work, the kids are still manic and have way too much energy with Luke walking in at 5.15 this morning saying "wakey time, daddy, wakey time". Then chasing his matchbox cars around going brrrm brrrmmmm at high volume. Boy is besotted with vehicles (new wooden train a huge hit too - thanks Mum) and his car ID skills are pretty good - look, BMW, Toyota etc. "What's THAT mommy?"  Gotta love each stage and grab cuddles whenever you can. My early morning did have quite a few in it, and the curly-top arrived in bed for hellos and discussions too. Fun days.
